Endo, bowel problems and contraception.

Hi everyone,

If anyone could help or advise me it would be greatly appreciated. I’m 18 years old and had my first lap in April. I have had nothing but problems with any medication hormone related;

Norethisterone - to stop bleeding before lap caused nightmares, sleep walking and didn’t completely stop bleeding

Implant- continuous bleeding and abdo pain + weight gain.

Desgesterol - again weight gain, bleeding, bloating, constipation one minute diarrhoea the next.

Gedarel - same as above but also headaches single day. (My current form of treatment& contraception)

I’m getting to the point where I don’t know what to do as I’ve gained an unhealthy amount of weight and can’t shift it because of the pill I am currently on I seem to just hold the weight or put it on. On top of that there are the other additives like bleeding, headaches, bipolar like bowels I honestly am so fed up of feeling tired and unwell and low because of this.

Please girls if anyone can help please do

Many thanks a fellow endo warrior x x x

I am so sorry to hear that you are going through this at just 18. Have you tried to change your diet? I know it is hard, but endo diet helped me. At least I have more energy. You can start taking out one thing at a time and when you are used to it, try another. I was GF when I started it, diary is hard to give up. But i feel so much better without it. I tried to get it back, but i feel very bad, so no more diary. Sugar is very easy to take out, if you cook at home. But it is hidden ingredient almost in every product.

I was taking Norethisterone and thought I will lose my mind even with the smallest dose. It did not work for me at all. I tried Danazol vaginally, maybe it will help you. Mirena is another option, but I assume you have never given a birth, so it might be painful.
