Hi-I recently had a lap in March and had endo shaved off my bowel . The surgeon didn’t want to do anything else as my symptoms re bowel were minimal and he didn’t want to risk further complications. It all went well .

I had endo removed from my bowel during my hysterectomy. Unfortunately my endo is back now and it’s likely I’ll need further surgery xxx

Well I have endo on ovaries and womb and bowel, so they are looking at removing ovaries, womb and then cutting away part of my bowel and rejoining it. My endo keeps coming back and severely too. They want to start me now on zoladex once a month follows by hrt.

Hi I had a total hysterectomy and it was planned that I would have a bowel resection but in the end got away with a bowel shave I’m 8 mpo and so far no problems. I used to get very bad bowel symptoms around the time of my period x

Hiya, yes, 4 times so far, unfortunately because my endo is stage 4 deep infiltrating and has spread to my kidney and diafram now too and totally obliterated my Pouch of Douglas, my bowel and bladder have just continued to worsen even after 4 albations, so I'm in for a bladder and bowel resection after my hysterectomy next month. (the hysterectomy is due to my cervical cancer not the Endometriomas as such, hopefully it'll help a little).

Hello,

Yes I had endometrial excision and a double bowel resection last May. My bowel symptoms were instantly improved which was lovely.

Good luck x

Did you have any side effects and how long was recovery? Did you have to have a bag?

Not really. I had a caesarean a couple of weeks ago and I'm finding I'm getting a bit of bowel discomfort prior to BM now but nothing compared to what I used to have. Recovery took about 8 weeks to feel totally ready to return to working a strenuous job, which I returned on 'lighter duties' with support which was nice.

No, I was prepared I could wake up with a bag but luckily it wasn't needed :-)

I was off work for two weeks. Took regular pain killers but I was surprised at how good I felt. Obviously first 48 hours a little sore but just rested at home.
