In June I had a laparoscopy to drain a large chocolate cyst on my ovary and they found stage 4 endometriosis. I was prescribed a monthly injection of Zoladex to try to stop the cyst from filling again for 6 months.
I'm about to have my fourth Zoladex injection at the end of this month but in the last week or so I've started having a bit of a period on and off for the first time since having my op. My understanding was that Zoladex is tricking your body into early menopause and my periods would stop so I'm a bit concerned about this bleeding. Is this common?
thanks, Sarah

I’ve been on the GnRH jabs for 6 months now. Not a spot of blood until after my 6th injection last week, at which point I’ve had a some light bleeding but its not a period proper, but more of a bleed caused by the change in multiple hormones caused by the injection. You are technically in menopause still, most women who go into menopause naturally in their later years have the same kind of light breakthrough bleeding from time to time in the first year or so. It’s perfectly normal, if you need to change your pad or tampon more than every 4 hours contact your GP or GYN as this is considered heavy bleeding, but otherwise light breakthrough bleeding is common with Zoladex and nothing to worry about.
