Lower back pain endo

Hi folks, I was wondering if anyone else gets kidney/lower back pain with endo? It seems to be when I’ve got the period type pain but any time of the month. It feels like it radiates from the front to the back.

I’ve got my next hospital appointment in a few weeks where I’m going to be trying to convince them to do excision surgery and didn’t know whether it was worth mentioning?

Hi, yeah I would mention it. I also get horrible back pain that usually comes at the same time as my abdominal pain. I think mention anything that you think could be related. I just recently started a symptoms journal, I just make a note of the date, what I experienced and the pain out of 10 it is helping me keep on top of my pain especially when it’s so frequent.

Hopefully you find out some answers soon x

I get exactly the same feeling! It’s an awful niggling pain and sometimes it intensifies till it feels like a corkscrew slowly turning in one exact spot. I always assume it’s the endo on my bowel an it does seem to coincide with me not eating ‘good’ foods.

I started a journal too and it’s been amazing. I include how much water I’ve drunk and what food I’ve eaten and exercise I’ve done as I’m hoping to spot trends I haven’t noticed before.

Really good advice :) Gluten and alcohol makes my lower back endo pain worse depending on time of the month. Bodies are weird and wonderful things! We'll get there!! x

Hello :) Really sorry to hear you have been experiencing lower back pain with endo. If your pain is on one side and radiating back from the front that sounds like it could be ovarian cyst related? My sporadic but chronic lower back pain (left-sided) was an ovarian cyst pushing backwards, and I'm pretty sure the subsequent lower back agony and sciatica it caused was it rupturing (not life threatening, just unpleasant!). Definitely would mention this pain to your GP and maybe asked to get it checked out - knowledge is power! :) Hope it goes well and you are feeling much better now with lots of hot water bottles nearby for the pain. X
