So after left ovary pain for the last few months I had an ultrasound and a transvaginal scan last wk.
The sonographer said a mass was detected and that it was solid with a fluid edge. She then went onto say that it was possibly a endometriomas with my history of endometriosis.
After following up with my DR today he said that the mass needs further evaluation as you cannot tell from the scan what it is.
What’s people experience of finding a mass on the ovary during a scan???

Unless you are within a BSGE centre where this scan took place then they would be able to tell if it is endometriosis. By the sound of it, this scan seems like it was done under gynae which in this case they would think it's also possible for something else. Better to get a MRI on the pelvis area which can detect what is going on. But this is better done under a BSGE centre as these dr will be able to tell you exactly what it is.
ok,that's not bad then. Wait for the endo specialist to talk you through it. normally the sonography dont really know much they are just trained to scan.
I have a fibroma on my left ovary, when I go in for my lap I have asked if they can remove it at the same time, they will see when they go in. It has stayed the same size for the past few years and showed up on 2 MRI scans.
