Had my first lap 2 weeks ago where they found moderate amounts of endo and two cysts on my right ovary. Recovery went really well and I was back at my normal life after a week with no issues. As I have been feeling so great I haven’t been limiting myself as I probably should. Yesterday I watched my sisters kids for the day and each time I picked them up towards the end of the day I could feel something like a tearing at one of my nearly healed incisions and after a while had sudden pain where my right ovary is that was so severe I could barely walk. It has eased quite a lot after being in bed all day, but will flare up every few hours, and is aggravated by walking. It’s a sharp pain that starts at my ovary and radiates down my leg and through my abdomen. Worried I tore something. Has anyone had issues like this? Did it go away on its own?
Thanks an advance ❤️

Hey, it's only been two weeks so you're still healing inside, this can take up to a month sometimes more for some women. did you have your endo and cysts removed? That can make healing take longer understandably.
You really shouldn't be doing any heavy lifting for at least 3 weeks! Plus the having a whole day not being able to just chill has probably taken a lot out of you physically. If you're feeling a sharp pain it'll be that you've pulled on something that's healing. If the pain is easing up then you're recovering, you'll probably need to rest it a little more now though.
Just take it easy!!
You should have a follow up appointment with your GP / specialist about now to chat about post op recovery - if you don't perhaps book one in and have a chat with them.
I did have the endo and cysts removed. I am having a hard time following the recovery guidelines from my doctor, I’ve been feeling so good that I’ve just been bored sitting in bed and I feel like it isn’t justifiable because I do feel fine most of the time. You’re right though, even though I feel good doesn’t mean I’m not still recovering and I should take it easy.
Will try and rest a little more the next few days. I have a follow up on Monday with my doctor and hopefully I didn’t mess anything up by being an idiot.
I was given a post op leaflet on my lap and general operation recovery in my leaving hospital pack. It says in there that for the first 24 hours, take it easy, get assistance for doing things such as lifting things, getting in / out of a bed / chair, up stairs. From the second day onwards the normal daily wake up, move around etc routine should be followed, with as much time during the day spent out of bed, as this gets the metabolism going, speeds recovery, gets rid of toxins and anaesthetic, plus it helps with mood. Light lifting and light house chores can be done. After three weeks, easy exercises such as yoga and some light supervised exercising can be done, normal walks, small trips out. You'll feel tired and your insides are still healing even though you can't see it, there's a lot been doing, including moving stuff around..
Trust me I got bored too! Netflix is awesome for recovery!
Just take it easy you need to listen to your body, there's not many times in your life you'll get this much "me" time so just enjoy it!
If your cycles are normal (ie no hormone control) you may have the first few periods a bit worse and you'll think it's all coming back, but it'll get better. About 4 to 5 months is when you should see what your "normal" is going forward.
You’re an angel. I don’t know why my mind goes one extreme to the other, I’m either in bed or going nonstop. Went to the gym for cardio after week 1 and I know that was a mistake so I haven’t been back since. But I could swear Netflix knows me better than I know myself at this point and I would be surprised if it’s getting as sick of me as I am. Just need to find some sort of balance.
I should be starting my period in the next few weeks and I’m a bit worried about it, I have heard that the first is quite awful, but I didn’t realize it could be more than the first one, so thank you for the warning. I would have been out of my mind if I was three months in and still having so much pain without realizing that it’s normal.
