What’s your symptoms

I’ve never had a heavy period and I have stage 4 endo.

I do have ovulation pain, pelvic pain, burning which radiates around my hips, leg pain, back pain, fatigue, etc. I don’t suffer with pain during sex.

I do get painful bowl movement and urination and shooting pains too.

I don’t take any hormones such as the pill or anything like that as they don’t agree with me.

Pain relief number 1 - heat (hot water bottle)

If I really have to I have codeine with paracetamol.

I have a tens machine which helps a bit with back pain.

Have you seen your Gp an requested a referral to a gynae?

Ok - if you haven’t already, take a note of all of your symptoms and a list of questions you have.

Good luck!

Well they should tell you in advance but often you have a scan (ultra sound) and then talk through your symptoms and options.

I’m stage 4 endo pretty much everywhere in my pelvis none around my womb.. but obvious adenomyosis seen from mri and laparoscopic surgery ( only way of definitely diagnosing or confirming is usually through biopsy after hysterectomy as the whole womb needs checking but my womb is visibly bulking and deformed) and Iv never had heavy periods unless I was on hormones. I tried coil, implant, various pills. All they did were make me VERY depressed and bleed heavily n irregular.

I had a lot of endo removed from rectum and rectovaginal area. My rectum does not work now without the use of suppositories. I have chronic pain almost daily. I’m on zappain and morphine on really bad days. Pain after bowel movements, sometimes after urination ( specially in the morning if I have a full bladder) I was going to have hysterectomy in March but had allergic reaction and woke up in intensive care unit, now they know what I reacted too I’m now on urgent list for hysterectomy, endo removal and possibly bowel resection x

Hi, yes I've just been diagnosed with stage 4 endo, my periods are and always have been normal (light) and only last 3-4days, but the pain just takes over my life, I take tramadol when it's really bad! I've had laparoscopy and they were ment to remove cysts and scar tissue but just took pics and are now referring me for more surgery x

I’ve not seen a gynaecologist still waiting I’m worried to have a lap as heard a lot of bad stories that it don’t make it better and the pain can be worse after I know it’s different for each person but scares me

I know it's hard but try not to worry, I took 2wks off work after mine but I didn't have anything done just pics taken, now I'm doing a phased back to work, but the pain from the endo is still affecting my life, I just want answers to when and what they are going to do next. I hope it all goes well for you and you get ur appointment through sn x

The scar tissue is where the endo cysts have burst and then they leave deposits (that's what I gaver from docs n internet) my bowel, ovaries and uterus are all stuck together, my pain used to be a couple of days before my period then during and with bowel movements and when weeing, now the pain comes and goes most of the time mostly around ovulation and periods, my back, hips and right side are the worst and my tummy swells so I look pregnant, I used to take codeine but that just doesn't help so now when it's really bad I take tramadol, paracetamol and ibuprofen but they dont always help, hope this is some help for u x
