So my consultant thinks GnRH injections are the way forward for me.. to help diagnose endometriosis.
So if my symptoms improve whilst on these injections that is a indicator ? Or if my symptoms worsen then than is an indicator of endometriosis?

If your symptoms improve it’s indicative of Endometriosis xxx
Ive had 2 operations to remove endo whilst being on that injection, so it doesn't always work.
An internal scan should show endo (again doesn't always).
Good luck
Hopefully the injections will stop your periods which is usually the worse time for endo sufferers. Unfortunately if you do have extensive endo you will most likely to continue to have symptoms. If this is the case after a few months on the injection I would push for a laparoscopy to make a final diagnosis.
By the way I had an internal scan which showed nothing but my pain was significant so my consultant arranged a laparoscopy which revealed stage4 endometriosis. I am currently awaiting total hysterectomy

My Multi-disaplinary team suggested this for me back when I was at stage 2, but I refused due to the side affects and the percentage of how many it doesn't work for. I would look into the affects before making any decisions. I've progressed now to stage 4 terminal DIE (always hated that they use the word terminal....) but I still believe I made the correct decision in not having the therapy. Surgery's really were my only workable options. If you do choose to do it I really really hope it's successful in helping you x
I had 6mths of these injections and they were the best thing that happened to me. Not only did they give me my life back. I was endo pain free for first time in 12 year but they confirmed my diagnosis without invasive procedures. I always knew I wanted a hysterectomy with removal of ovaries so the injection just helped give me so peace until my date arrived. I did however have some side effects achy joints but tbh nothing is as bad as endo pain 4mths on from my hysterectomy and I’m a different person I’m coping well with menopause I have no pain at all and I’ve found myself again. I don’t know what the future holds but I’m living for the moment. You won’t onow how the injections effect you until you try them I would do it again in a heartbeat xx good luck
Yes, it is an indicator if you symptoms improve, however I could never go through these injections since they can cause bone loss and other permanent side effects.
The only way to know for sure if you have endometriosis is through an excision laparoscopy. But please don't just get diagnostic surgery. Get a laparoscopy that will remove all of your endo in one sitting, please. Please contact a Nancy Nook surgeon or get referred to a great BSGE centre and make sure an experienced excision surgeon works on you. Please seek better care
