Hi guys, I was diagnosed a few months ago and been told to get back on the pill as it helps with symptoms. I hate the pill and was off it 2 years but clearly this caused my endo to come out and get worse! I now feel trapped in having to take the pill which is something I really don’t want too as I get really bad side effects like anxiety and depression on most of them :( I feel really low about it all now, I think I was in denial and put up with the symptoms and took painkillers etc but since I’ve been taking the pill it’s got worse. I’m scared to come on my period, I’m scared to eat when I’m on my period as the pain is too much :( my biggest worry is fertility , I want children so much. It would kill me. I’m booked back in with my GP so going to fight again for surgery as they pushed back before and just said go on the pill .... so frustrating. I feel no one listens to me :( anyone else found this?

Sorry you are going through this :( It sucks!

Do you know what stage your endo is?

There are some other options, i.e. the mirena coil and injections. Mirena coil has mixed reviews from what I understand, although I can not have one so I am not the best to advice. Injections are a more permanent work around, they take 9 months to leave your body and I would not recommend this if you suffer side effects it will be difficult for you to cope with this for such a long time. Also, they are the only treatment that does effect your fertility. Whilst people do go on to conceive after the injections, others really struggle. So its a tough decision. In this way, the pill is quite a "good option", although I completely understand and share your frustrations!

Have you heard of the endo diet? Maybe look into that? I know that it helps many ladies who struggle with pain with eating. I personally do not eat red meat, dairy for this reason and it really helped my pain.
