Hey, I am 5 weeks post pregnancy, and I can already feel my endometriosis pains and cramps returning. I am breastfeeding and formula feeding; as I find I am not making enough milk. Also I find when I am in pain my milk production reduces.
I have stage 4 endo and have been to see my specialist who has confirmed I have a small cyst on my uterus and my uterus is posterior however no endometriosis has began growing yet.
I have a Natural birth, after birth had my usual pregnancy bleed which stopped 2 weeks ago and since I have had no bleeding. When is it likely to have a period after birth?
What can I do whilst pregnant and breastfeeding to help my endometriosis cramps?
Anyone else have experience of cramps and pains returning so soon after birth?

I had a baby 6 weeks ago and my endo pains returned within a few days unfortunately. Had a period last week which was awful but I'm not breast feeding. They don't normally come back for a while if you're breast feeding.
Just take normal painkillers. I'm going to chat to my gp at my 6 week check soon. Thinking of getting the implant x
Hello and congratulations on your little one’s safe arrival.
I had my little boy in January and had been hoping for a symptom break too, but sadly my cycle returned almost 28 days exactly after my baby was born. It was hard to tell that at first as I had an emergency c-section and was told the heavier bleeding and pain I experienced four weeks post-delivery was part of the healing process, but the second cycle 28 days after the first confirmed my suspicions and each period has been worse than the last. I’m exclusively breastfeeding so had really hoped my cycle wouldn’t come back until I stopped. However it was partially the dips in my milk supply that had made me suspect I was having a period at 4 weeks - my milk supply dips really low during my period and at ovulation, but it is good enough in between to pump extra and freeze so I can feed him extra when I need to.
There is a pharmacologist who works for The Breastfeeding Network who was amazing at advising me which of my monthly pain meds and antihemorrhagic I could safely take while breastfeeding. My local NHS breastfeeding clinic that advised me to contact them given the specialist nature of my Endo meds. You can find more details online here:
