Provera confused

I have been prescribed provera twice a day for 3-4 months. I have been taking them for 3 weeks and I am starting to get break through bleeding and spotting. It is really annoying me because it is supposed to stop everything. Ovulation , periods, pain and it doesn’t seem to be working. The pain has eased but it’s still there and I don’t be having spotting on random days because that’s worse not knowing when you will bleed or spot🤦🏼‍♀️

Has anyone else had this happen on provera ?
