So I had my first ever lap last Wednesday and was diagnosed with endometriosis. I am currently 5 days post lap and have my follow up app in the middle of June. Should I wait until then to discuss what contraception I should be taking? I have taken the mini pill before as I can’t take the combined pill due to migraines and it made me bleed a lot. I am thinking of the implant this time as I’ve heard horror stories about the coil. Any advice on this would really help. Thank you 😊

I would probably wait to talk to them about it - a lot of doctors prescribe contraception to help control the symptoms and progression of endometriosis. I've been taking the combined pill for years, but I'm thinking of getting the coil over the summer (recommended by gynae, heard good things from women at support group + non-endo friends who've had it.) Not heard anything about the implant, unfortunately!
