Cramping after lap (Mirena? Healing? IBS?)

Me in a nutshell: Laparoscopy, endo removal and Mirena insertion just over a month ago.

I feel like I'm seeing good healing progress now. Cuts are healed over and spotting has calmed right down. However, I seem to still be getting cramping most days. It feels like period pain. It's not terrible but it's annoying. This seems to happen a) after exertion and b) after a bowel movement and then it goes on for a few hours.

I don't know if it's

a) just part of the healing, having tender insides and a result of me doing too much and forgetting that I'm not supposed to be lifting things etc.

b) some kind of IBS thing (I was on a load of antibiotics for an infected stitch which have upset my digestion, and the consultant who did my op said from seeing my insides it looked like I might have some IBS-type issues)

c) Mirena related, whether as a normal effect of it bedding in or an indicator that it might be slightly in the wrong place. I'm having the strings checked in a couple of weeks so that will answer that one.

Not really looking for answers, just expressing my thoughts for clarity really!

Hi, similar story here as I’m 3 months post excision surgery with endo removal and Mirena insertion and I am still experiencing cramping most days. I’m starting to think it’s the Mirena because I had a top specialist do my surgery so am confident that it was very thorough. Also because I’ve read that the Mirena caused pain for so many women. I really want to stick with it and see if settles by the 6 month mark, we will see. Wishing you luck with your recovery and hope you get full relief soon😊

Thank you - I hope you get a good outcome too. I have a couple of friends who love their Mirenas so I know it can be a great solution, but at the same time it's clearly not for everyone. X
