Unfortunately my pain has been worse since been pregnant I’m 16 weeks now. The baby is looking healthy and great from my scans and tests etc.
The endometriosis pain is so bad, only thing I can relate it to is everything moving and stretching therefore stretching the growths as it goes along. Horrendous pain in my thighs and back
It frustrates me as the main focus is always how it improves during pregnancy and I just haven’t found that

Congrats on your pregnancy.
But sorry to hear you’re still suffering with pain & symptoms.
I literally could’ve written this post. I’m 37 weeks & I’ve suffered endo pain each time my baby grows & after eating. My endo was all over my uteroscaral ligaments, pod & rectum. I feel disappointed as every dr said pregnancy would improve endo & I’d get no pain 🤨 it feels like my endo is back in full force or it’s the scar tissue being aggravated by pregnancy. Even my braxton hicks are horrendous & keep making think I’m in labour!!
Definitely not alone not sure if that is any consolation probably not! xoxo
There is a huge stress on a pregency will mean less pain...then when it’s worse it’s disappointing and even worrying then you look in to it and realise how common it is and after speaking to my Endo nurse she said it can get worse due to hormones and the growths tearing as everything is stretching which makes complete sense to me. Makes sense how the growths would be aggravated by everything moving and growing.
hi congratulations on your pregnancy 😊. I'm sorry you're suffering, the consultant we saw said that in general pregnancy helps but as I have stage 4 deep infiltrated I'm to expect more pain. I find my hips and legs hurt and I get abdominal pain which I'm putting down to growing. I find baths help with the niggles and bizarrely if I keep active its better than resting more. It is better than the constant endometriosis pain just different I guess. I hope you can enjoy pregnancy 😊. Xx
I have stage 4 too.. my Endo nurse told me just just luck, either gets better or gets worse
I’m the sane, sat around feel awful walking around I feel ok actually, but when your in pain all you want to do is rest! Lol!
I have pain in my legs, back and hips and always get awful constipation on a flare up even though I’ve never had it diagnosed on my Bowels. But they told me my constipation looked horrific and it’s just adding to the inflammation and pressing on the nerves so that makes sense..
And pregency makes constipation worse, so that’s fun!
Kate,
Congratulations on your pregnancy! This happened to me in my first pregnancy, it was a horrible 9 months that I tried so hard to enjoy but even the simple tasks of sitting and walking were excruciating. The pains were present through her entire labor as well. The pain subsided while I was breastfeeding and then I got pregnant again within a few month. The second pregnancy didn’t have the same pains as my first, labor was much less painful, and the pain didn’t come back again until after I stopped nursing. I know it’s hard but try your best to enjoy it because you will miss it when it’s over!
I was waiting to start my IVF treatment and just found out I'm 6 weeks pregnant after no show of my day 1! I have stage 4 endo which is on ovaries, pouch of Douglas, bladder and bowels and I have been worried that I have been having endo pain since having a positive test when the doctors have told me it would get better ! It's a huge relief to read your post and all the other comments that this is normal although it's not been easy for you. I usually take naproxen for my pain but since I can only take paracetamol now it's going to be tough. Do you know of any alternatives? Thank you for making me feel better and good luck with your pregnancy wish you all the best .
