Hi hon, is the bleeding happening because the fibroids are breaking down? Have they shrunk since being on the prostap? They said I have to go on prostap if I want mine removed but I'm a little worried that my hormones wont switch back on after the 3 months.
I've read about alot of women whose shrunk their fibroids naturally by eating a lot of fruit and vegetables, herbs, acupuncture etc. Look on you tube and Google. I eat pretty well and I think that why mine grows very slowly. It is growing though and causing alot of symptoms which is why I want it removed. I'm just worried about the prostap injections and the long term side effects.
I’m not sure if the fibroids were breaking down but I was told I would have no bleeding at all and severe menopause symptoms I had no menopause symptoms at all just horrendous bleeding I was taking northisterone too so I stopped my injections my consultant doesn’t know yet and probably won’t be happy I just didn’t know what else to do I’m trying a low estrogen diet now with apple cider vinegar but I just don’t know what to think I have a scan next eeek to see if the have shrunk but I doubt it I’m 56 next month and could do without all this 😀
Hello,
I’ve just had my 2nd Prostap injection and asked the nurse about the bleeding, as I have had pretty constant bleeding since my first injection and the Consultant that I saw told me that I would have no bleeding at all. I was confused because the information leaflet that I was given was also contradictory; you will have an increase in symptoms the first 2 weeks (flare), you should have no bleeding at all so if you do see your GP and if taking for fibroids you could experience severe bleeding as the fibroid shrinks.
The Nurse at my 2nd injection told me that it can take up to 3 injections for symptoms to settle down (not much help if you are on your 4th) but if it is severe to let them know, so they can check for anemia.
I also looked at the information on diet and supplements, but as I had tried pretty much everything suggested trying to alleviate my heavy periods before the injections I didn’t think it would work much for me. The only thing that used to reduce my bleeding was red raspberry leaf tea, but even that I had to drink a cup every half hour or so!
