Surgery wound leaking watery blood a month after surgery, is this normal?!

A month ago I had a laparoscopy for endometriosis and an ovarian cyst they removed the cyst and Endo.

I have just finished taking antibiotics for one of the incisions as it was infected but it is now oozing watery blood. I have just come on my first period since the operation is this connected or normal at all?

The doctors want me to rest and have another week off of work (I took the first 2 weeks off) as I need to heal but I have a major test and it’s too crazy at work to be off.

Has anyone had something similar or know what I should do? Any help is appreciated! X

It sounds like it would be best to speak to your gynaecology team about the oozing. It's not something that should be happening as far as I know, and it's better to talk to someone with expertise in what is normal / acceptable / unacceptable for recovering from a laparoscopy for endo, instead of the GP surgery, if possible.

And honestly, it also sounds like your body isn't giving you much choice, and you need to prioritise your recovery over work. Sorry, probably not what you want to hear.

Hope you get it sorted and best wishes x
