Endo taking over my life...

I had a miscarriage last may and after an ultrasound discovered my left fallopian tube was blocked with fluid and was causing me pain on a daily basis, in dec last year I had my 1st laparoscopy to remove my tube as it was so badly damaged and was serving no purpose, this is when I was diagnosed with stage 4 endometriosis, at the moment I endure pain most days whether it be pelvic pain, lower back pain and I struggle with fatigue, I desperately want to fall pregnant although I do have 1 little boy already and some might say I'm being very selfish I long to have a complete family, the specialist I am under is willing to refer us for ivf but we will have to pay as we have 1 child already. I feel that my life is currently being taken over by endo and dont really know where to turn as I keep being told to go back on birth control to help ease my pain. To me this isn't an option until I have tried my hardest to fall pregnant, I dont know if ivf will even work does anyone have any info on suffering stage 4 endo and going through ivf? And any advice on pain management in maybe a holistic way (reflexology or acupuncture) today is the 1st time I've had to give in to endo and come home from my work as my pain was so unbearable.

I’m sorry, you are going through a lot. It’s so hard to know which part of our life, plans and body to look after first.

I’m 42 with stage 4 endo and conceived both of my kids on the first round of ivf each time. I had miscarried 4 times before that when trying naturally. So ivf was a great solution for us. My tubes were a mess and therefore I could not get pregnant in my womb, but the ivf bypasses the tubes entirely and everything worked ok once the embryos were implanted in the correct place.

The cost is a bummer though. Sorry this crappy condition is taking over so many aspects of our lives for so long.

Good luck.

Hi chloe,

Thank you for your reply it's nice to hear of someone who has a similar situation and has conceived so it has given me a glimmer of hope. I had a miscarriage before I had my son also and its heartbreaking it gets harder each time, my partner likes the idea of adopting as he cant bare to see the pain I am going through and also the prospect of many more miscarriages but I want to give ivf at least one shot just to hopefully experience pregnancy one more time and then I know I have at least tried everything.
