Anemic

Hope somebody can help me. Has anybody had have to have iron intravenously. Also what is it like.

Hi Sam yes twice,

Both times it was very easy and really the 2nd one which was an all day stay in hospital worked the best.

Yes, I had Iron IV every year for the past three years. You normally do it twice, one week apart. I felt much better afterwords and no side effects. The problem was that I kept loosing blood and become anemic again until I got a histerectomy 5 months ago. Definitely, you should get it done if you are anemic, it’s a quick fix vs iron pills which get absorbed so slow. And you shouldn’t stay anemic, it’s not good for your body. Good luck.
