Should I get surgery?

So I recently went to the er about two months ago for severe pain that I thought was appendicitis. The doctors thought I had an ovarian cyst and had me do an internal ultrasound. They didn't find anything wrong, but all of my symptoms were symptoms of cysts. I felt so lost. I went to a new gynecologist and she said she thought I had endometriosis, but just put me on a birth control, even though I had already been on a birth control for a year. I want to get a laparoscopy, not only to help the pain but also get an official diagnosis. I'm worried though that my pain isn't severe enough for my doctor to suggest surgery. What should I do?

If the birth control isn’t working then go back to Gp, they can refer you to the gynaecologist. Good luck x
