I've had 2 laps and no bowel endo found, despite bleeding from rectum during my period, and sometimes randomly too. Get so constipated and unable to pass anything during my period sometimes, and when I do it hurts a lot!
I'm a bit fed up of being examined and having operations - my last was only 2 months ago, so I don't want to keep putting my body through that and risk more adhesions, if I can help it!
Has anyone got any advice on how to keep the symptoms at bay without surgery? I had the coil fitted during my last lap, so that should hopefully have some kind of effect on the growth of more endo. But to be honest, the pill didn't seem to have any effect and with the coil my sex drive has reduced to literally zero. So whilst the lining of my womb is thinning because of progesterone, my partner and I are drifting apart! You literally can't win with this disease.
TIA xx

When I had endo on my bowel (not inside like yours could be) my endo specialist said I had two options but entirely up to me; I could leave it as it is and it could either grow and perforate or stay about the same, or I could I have excised which would help as it'll no longer be there.
I opted for the lap to have it excised as I did have symptoms - not the bleeding like yours though. But it was about 8 months after my previous lap so there was a gap.
Are you 100% sure it's endo inside the bowel? Has a colorectal (bowel) specialist along with the endo specialist had a look inside the bowel? It usually by camera, they may have done it with your lap. If you're still bleeding from your bowel and it is endo in your bowel it can get worse which if left can require a bowel resection. I don't mean to scare you, just being honest.
I found progesterone reduced my sex drive; I managed for about 10 years then decided it's enough and now manage my endo symptoms post excision naturally, almost!
Well, I did tell my doctor that I had some bleeding, but nothing has been mentioned about my bowel since my lap. They excised it from the UV fold, ovaries and pelvic wall. Some was left on my ureter. So if that continues to be a pain then I could be looking at another lap anyway...
But I suppose it might not be endo - it could be a tear in the wall or something. I did have some rectal bleeding a few years ago before I knew about the endo or that it was even a condition. The doc had a look and said it was just a tear on the wall, and said I need to eat more fibre. I took that as true at the time although I was dubious about the fibre because I am vegan and eat so much of it! It has been something that has been on and off for years.
But now I'm clued up on what's going on with my body, and because of the way it interacts with my cycle, I'm more inclined to think it is, and perhaps always was, endo.
I suppose part of me is just wishing and praying that it doesn't get worse really quickly! I can't stand the idea of another operation.
See if you can have the colonoscopy with a specialist? That could eliminate the need for a lap for the moment. It can also see if it's a tear. I don't know how it works though as you'll need your endo specialist and a bowel specialist; perhaps it can be recorded and viewed by them. I've never had one, so don't know sorry
