I had my diganostic laparoscopy on Monday which confirmed that I do have endometriosis. I had the tissue burnt/cut away and a new marina coil fitted as mine dislodged during surgery. I had four incisions made one of which is now infected (My navel).
I've had terrible pain from the procedure as expected and now the infected navel. But also have gas pain from the CO2.
I'm also finding it incredibly difficult to sleep. If anyone has any advice for the pain and trouble sleeping it would be much appreciated!!
Thank you.

Congratulations / equally sorry to hear your diagnosis but at least you know what’s going on.
The shoulder pain is, in my experience, one of the worst parts of recovery. Peppermint tea or peppermint oil capsules work really well for shifting the gas but it takes around a week.
Try not to eat anything stodgy until your *ahem* bowel movements have regulated again. If you’re worried about being constipated you could ask the GP for some laxido or lactulose which are stool softerners and make it a little easier when the time comes. Drink a lot of water.
As for managing pain, try not to do too much too soon and make sure you’re taking your pain killers as described, as opposed to waiting until your in pain. It’s awful if you have to keep ‘chasing’ your pain with delayed tablets.
Have you tried sleeping sitting up? I find that if I get quite a lot of pillows if does make sleeping easier and there isn’t that horrible pain from getting from horizontal to vertical.
I hope some of that helps! Lots of healing vibes to you xxxxx
