Coil advice

Hello guys, I’m very recently been diagnosed with endometriosis after 7 years of struggling in pain with my abdomen and pelvic area. I’m currently on a waiting list to see another doctor as I was told they couldn’t remove any of my endo during my larposphy as mine is attached severely to my bowel. Before I got diagnosed I was suggested by my doctor to get the marina coil fitted, this was in aug last year. Ever since I have found my ‘period pains’ to be a lot worse and keep getting told by doctors it’s the only treatment to help with my endo and it’s still getting into my system? I just feel like it isn’t right for my body but I’m getting told to wait another 6 months then to decide what to do. I’m scared if I get the coil removed my periods will start to become very heavy and the pain will be just as bad. Has anyone got any advice on medication they take to help with pelvic pain? I’ve tried all tablets they never seem to work and heat is my only option but that’s hard when I’m working lol. Also any pill tablets that they have found to have helped them? Feel like I’m at a dead end 😩

Hello, in my last few replies which I think you will be able to see I’ve spoken about how awful the coil was and how damaging it is. Have you made any changes to your diet and lifestyle at all?

Don’t let anyone tell you that one way is the only answer, it’s your body and you choose what happens with it xxx

Yea I have seen them and I hope your alright. I’m currently waiting to see a specialist and got told to wait till then to see about having it removed. I haven’t changed my diet, I’ve heard/read that becoming gluten free helps. Is this true? X

Yes gluten free helps so much! Sugar and gluten free is the best combo for me personally but following the endo diet generally is a good idea. Carolyn Levett has a book called ‘Recipe and Diet Advice for Endometriosis’ (the ISBN 9780955678523) which goes into the science behind the diet as well as some great options for what to eat.

The diet is intense at first but once you get used to it and prep it’s fine and I always lose the half stone that I can never shift on it too! X
