(I'm new here) Bowel movements, pain on arousal, vaginal prolapse - are these likely to be caused by endometriosis? What should I do now?!

Hi,

After many years of GP appointments I was finally referred to a gynaecologist in the midlands (not BSGE) 2 years ago. After ultrasound scans and a laparoscopy I was diagnosed with endo. Endo found at the back of my womb was removed (success! I thought....)

Details of the operation, what was found, and treatment since has been poor - notes sent to my GP were very minimal so I'm not entirely sure what happened in theatre!? Also I didn't particularly trust the consultant - we spoke for a total of less than 3 minutes about my symptoms, and when I mentioned that I have issues with the bowel she just said that that wasn't why I was referred, and hence it wasn't relevant... nothing else was said.

Anyway, my periods are maybe slightly better than they were but other than that nothing's changed. I still struggle with the bowel when I'm on my period (diarrhea / constipation). I have horrendous, sharp pain shallow in my vagina when I get aroused, which just means I try and avoid intimacy at all costs... Additionally, in the last year I've noticed my cervix sitting incredibly low (nearly at the entrance).

I've been to my GP loads of times - 6 months ago I was referred to another gynaecologist who examined me but he said everything seemed fine and suggested I get counselling (not available on the NHS).

I've since started some pelvic physio and had a little bit of counselling.

I've got another appointment with my GP coming up - I'm not sure if the low cervix or pain on arousal are anything to do with endo. But I don't know what to say / ask for. They're reluctant to send me to a BSGE clinic as they're not sure whether it's the endo causing the symptoms.

Suggestions greatly appreciated!

Thank you

Hi there. It seems a little slow around here lately.

I can't really offer you any advice, I kind of in the same boat, I'm suffering, it seems to be in my bowel also, I have the same issues during my period, and just don't know what to asy or ask my GP for.

I just wanted to say you're not alone in this.

Maybe you could push for a referral to a BSGE clinic and maybe not take no for an answer?
