I am on a waiting list for my second laparoscopy to remove a 5cm complex Endometrioma and to treat any other Endo they find.
I’ve had continuous back pain for weeks now without any relief, is that a normal symptom for Endo? At first I thought I just start in my office chair funnily but I’ve tried back supports and all sorts, and it’s not helping.
Another symptom that’s developed is pain and occasionally a small amount of blood when I go to the toilet for a no.2 (sorry TMI!), is this normal too? I had a colonoscopy early last year but it came back clear, could it just be pressure in my body from the Endometrioma?
I have just been prescribed codeine from my GP to take with paracetamol when the pain gets really bad but I haven’t tried it yet, has it helped anyone?
Thanks 🙂 xx

I think back pain is unfortunately very common, especially lower back pain with rectovaginal endometriosis. I have not found codeine to be the most effective painkiller for endometriosis, especially as it can make you constipated which makes back pain worse. I too have bled following a toilet visit before and you should always speak to your GP about it so they can rule out any other causes. Hope this helps good luck with your next surgery x
my back pain in awful - bottom of back -but moves up sometimes to under my shoulder blades - do you get this too? I have had laparoscopy treatment twice - the second time they took out the lining of my womb - and fitted coil - lasted a year with coil as it made me feel ill not myself - that was 2 years ago - but ive never had such bad back before - also pelvis and ovary pain, feel sick a lot -- wait to be referred again pain killer don't work for me either
