Hi everyone I was just after some help. I was diagnosed with endometriosis in may and had the coil fitted during helica treatment. My pains have got worse and I have unbelievable bloating. It seems to be getting worse and worse. I’m going back to the doctors on Monday but worried she’ll tell me to stay with the coil and see how I get on. Instead of a week of heavy painful periods I now have 2 weeks of a “normal” period with even worse pains. Apparently my endo is mild but its so painful now. I’m at a loss of what to do

Hello :-)

I'm in exactly the same boat as you! I had my laparoscopy in October 2018 and they found endo covering both tubes,Ovaries and womb..They put a Mirena Coil in (I was reluctant, but my consultant insisted)

Since then I haven't stopped loseing stuff and my periods have gone from being every 29 days for 4-5 days max to god knows when and last about 2 weeks..Also my pains have gotten worse..I'm bloated, headaches..I've got doctors this Friday to see about what my options are!

Hope you feel better soon..Pm if you wana chat..Anytime :-) xx

I’m hoping my doctor will do something tomorrow. Since Thursday I have been bloated non stop and the pains over the weekend debilitated me. I’ve even took a picture of my stomach to show the doctor cuss I’m worrie they won’t believe me.

My periods have gone from a heavy week every month to a “normal” blood loss with extreme pain over 2 weeks.

It’s just the worse thing in the world it really is xxxx

I have a friend who had the Mirena coil inserted because she had PCOS. She said the first few months were bad in terms of bleeding. She said she was spotting alot and had emotional hormonal issues. But after a few months she was fine. That may or may not help you. If it's been longer than a few months and problems still exist then that's a different story. How about just some birth control pills?

I’ve had the Mirena coil for 8 months now and it’s not worked. I know how your friend feels it didn’t do my emotional state good for the first few months. I can’t go on the pill personally as I suffer with migraines they won’t put me on it.

I went back to my doctors yesterday she wants me to have a blood test and a ultra sound so she’s ticked all the boxes but then is sending me back to the specialist. Fingers crossed he’ll do something else.

Xxx
