I stopped drinking in 2017 as I found alcohol to be a big trigger in causing a flare up for me. My uterus would feel like it was on fire trying to burn its way out of my body and I would have awful diarrhea and cramps for 3 days and my Endo pains. Once I looked into it I realised alcohol is a huge inflammatory and given Endo causes inflammation it made sense why alcohol aggravated it so much. It’s annoying at times, social events etc but for me it’s just not worth the pain

All the best xx

Hi,

Sometimes I can drink alcohol and it causes a little pain but then other times I can drink and I get this horrendous pain in my kidneys and I can barely move with the pain.

I get such horrendous pain when I drink alcohol! When I have a flare up of endo it makes me feel like I have a dead leg too. I’m also on Zoladex which gives me low moods and the alcohol just enhances my everyday struggles. Not worth it for a couple of glasses of wine x

Alcohol is known to cause lots of problems not only aggravating endo but it doesn't work well with some medication and for some people it can upset the stomach causing ulcers / blisters, and others have allergies / sensitives to what's in the alcohol or what's used to make it such as gluten in beers.

If the alcohol is causing problems it may be best to stop drinking for a period of time (a few weeks) to let things settle; then perhaps try a single measure of a drink - see the effects, then leave it for a few weeks and try a different one - much like an elimination diet to check allergies / sensitivities. That way you'll be able to work out which ones are okay for you - if you feel you need to drink.

I'm not sure if that helps xx
