HELP! Severe post lap bleeding

I was hoping someone could indicate whether the amount of bleeding post lap I am experiencing is normal.

I had my 1st lap 4 weeks ago. During the lap they removed endo from around my left ovary and left pelvic area. They also suspected that I had cervix erosion and I did, so they also cauterised my cervix.

I was on my period when I had the operation and after the lap I bled for a few days which then changed to a pink watery discharge which I still had 3 and a half weeks later. Then 3 days ago, I got what I assume is my period. The blood is bright red however which is unusual to me.

Anyway the bleed has been heavy but today something scary happened. I had just been on a short flight and I was in an elevator going to my hotel room when I felt something coming out down below .... I had no idea what was happening, I've never felt anything like it before. I had a sanitary pad on so didn't think too much about it but then I felt wetness running down the back of my leg. Mind you, I had jeans on! I reached back and blood was all over me.

I raced in to the room and went straight to the toilet, when I pulled my jeans down there was blood everywhere. Then as I sat down, I heard a noise and looked down and there was a big blood clot in the toilet. I couldn't fully see it as it was in the toilet and the water was red from all the blood but it appeared roughly tennis ball size. My sanity pad was soaked. I mean it was literally dripping.... and I am not exaggeratting in the least. I immediately jumped in the shower to clean myself up and now (3 hours later) the blood flow seems to be back to heavy but bright red still.

The surgeon told me to expect clotting for a couple weeks after the op however I never got any... could this just be a massive delayed reaction and a release of blood trapped by a big clot?

I'm currently on holiday and hoping this is normal. I should also point out that I am not in any pain other than mild post op pains.

Have any of you ladies experienced this.... particularly 4 weeks post op?

Hi ruby I can’t comment on the lap but I can say that I suffer with exactly what happened to you. No warning, all of a sudden blood pours out, it feels a very strange sensation, big clots, goes through pad and clothes. It’s horrendous.

I don’t think it’s normal as how can we live like that?

I take tablets to stop the heavy flow of blood. If this is a new thing which has happened to you then I would maybe see your GP.

Hope your period isn’t too bad now x
