I have a large ovarian cyst, I had my pre-op last week and I'm now waiting for a date.
I'm on the pill and usually, I don't get the pain that bad but I do get the sharp pain every now and again (usually period week) but I know it's the cyst so I try and go about my daily business.
I woke up today in so much pain, I ate a banana this morning so I could take some paracetamol but I ended up being sick. I've never had this before. I'm still being sick now and the paracetamol isn't working. I'm in so much pain down my left side (even my back), I'm literally on the verge of tears because I don't know what to do.
Any help would be greatly appreciated thank you

He may suggest a&e regarding your cyst but seeing as you have a date forthcoming that is about as good as it gets if you are NHS, he could possibly prescribe you a muscle relaxer like methocarbamol 750mg aswell as better pain relief.
Im so sorry you are being sick with pain it must be quite horrendous!
Thank you for responding I phoned 111 shortly after posting this and they told me to go to a&e :/ I've been in the hospital the past two days and they did an emergency laparoscopy yesterday :S apparently, my cyst had grown from 9 inches to 14 and was starting to cause problems :/
thank you again for responding I'm just glad it's all sorted
yeah I had the operation on Thursday night they rushed me through as an emergency :/ it was causing too many other problems because of me being sick :/
Yeah they managed to take it all it was the first thing I noticed when I first came around that all the pain had gone from the left
Thank you I'm doing ok... the act of getting up and sitting down hurts as I'm still sore across my stomach but everything went well in the end very gassy too haha!! I also have to inject Fragmin in my thighs every day for 2 weeks which I'm not enjoying big needle phobia
Ahhhhh needles, bring em on lol if it means you will be healing 😉...you got this!
Well done on getting through your Op, hate to say it but its almost best you had something a&e couldn't dismiss so you got your Op and not sent away in pain and clueless.
That tidy up will have done you the world of good.
Give us an update in a week or so!
Peppermint tea for that gas!
You will be tender running into 2 weeks.
Take it easy you still had keyhole surgery its a major operation!
yeah I hope so !! I just wish they didn't sting as much as they do! or someone could knock me out first haha!!
yeah that was a relief for me when I first got there, whilst I was in the Surgical Assessment Unit the gynaecologist said that they were going to do an ultrasound and give me some painkillers to go home with ... wasn't very happy when she said that as I was in pain and being sick but it was 3 am so I just lay down and tried to sleep
I definitely will!! once these injections are done gah!! Thank you so much for the peppermint tea tip haha I'll ask my mum to get some when she goes to the shops for me
