Stage 4 Endo Pain and Mood Swings

Been feeling really depressed lately. My GP prescribed Amitriptyline and the progestin only pill to help with non stop bleeding and excruciating pain and since then I’ve been an emotional wreck. Anyone have any tips to make me feel a little better..?

Hey, it may be an idea to have a check of the side effects (NHS site) / have a chat with your GP. Quite often hormones can affect our mood as well as some other drugs; the medication you've been given may simply not suit you and you'll need different ones.

My emotions are all over the place when on strong painkillers, and when I used to be on the combined pill years ago, looking back it was awful. I would never go back to that frame of mind - at the time I just thought I was weird and got on with stuff.

The pill can have some very serious side effects in terms of mood and emotions. I would go back to your GP and discuss this, look into another possible pill. xxx

Hi there

I was also on the progesterone only pill and it caused severe depression in me. - it’s hard to see it yourself but I felt much better when off it again. I was then given Decapeptyl injections - a bit more drastic but no kind of pill agrees with me in one way or another.
