Hi ladies,

I have stage 4 endo as well as other problems. Lately I've been experiencing alot of pain in my hips (especially the right side). It feels like a tearing pain & goes all the way down my leg into my knee. Some days tye pain is so bad that I can barely walk. Has anyone else ever had this?

Hi, I also have stage 4 endo. I get pains in my right hip too, but they are more like sudden stabbing pains. I get a shooting pain down my right thigh too and around my bottom cleavage(!). It hasnt been so bad as to affect me walking yet (touch wood). I was told my bowel, uterus and ovaries are stuck together so I think it possibly has something to do with that - maybe if I stretch the wrong way it all pulls and causes the pain? I'm due to go see an endo specialist for the first time in October (rather than a gynae) and hopefully will be able to ask about this.

Thanks for the reply hun. My endo is on my bowels, bladder, ovaries, uterus, rectum, pouch of douglas & in the general abdominal cavity. It gives me alot of back pain as well. Ive seen a supposed specialist but he was useless (basically just fobbed me off) so am going to be seeing a different one soon, so will ask then. There are concerns that the endo mite have spread to my chest too & I have read that it can even spread to your legs. However I think this may just be a side effect of the endo as recently I get so much joint pain & need so much sleep x

Its a terrible condition, isnt it? It wouldnt be so bad if there was a definitive treatment that worked for everyone with no side effects - I live in hope! I hope your new specialist can offer you some relief - it all seems a bit hit and miss as to whether you get someone who knows what they're doing and believes what you're telling them.

I know :( there needs to be more research on endo as most specialists dont have a great deal of knowledge either. I hope that they can cure it one day :( Thankyou hun, well hopefully the new specialist can help- the one I saw didnt have a clue & I just came out more upset than I went in xx

Hey Dollypop. I have the exact same thing. Some days my hips are so stiff it is so hard to walk and feels like things are being ripped apart causing severe lower back pain and pain shooting down to my right knee. I had my last laparoscopy in 2011 and unfortunately only eased the pain slightly and my consultant said it could be adhesions caused by scar tissue making things stick together. But just question your consultant.

Yoga stretches have helped ease the pain and makes me feel more flexible when moving. And had to know my limitations. I work lifting heavy mannequins and found this made my pain worse. When I went on light duties it helped immensely. Found Naproxen helped - I'm not very good at taking strong painkillers as they make me sick - but did find Naproxen or Ibuprofen and paracetamol together eased the pain.

Hope this helps.

Hi Twinkletoes,

thanks for the reply. Am definitely gonna ask my consultant about it- at the moment I am really having trouble walking and as I have problems with my mobility from other conditions its becoming a bit of a struggle.

I might give the yoga some thought- my other half wants to get me into some gentle swimming too. I cant take naproxen or ibuprofen as I am allergic to non steroidal anti inflammatories, but I do find the painkillers I am on help with hip pain. Thanks so much

Dolly xxxx
