Hi there. I’m 20 y/o. So I had a laparoscopy & left salpingectomy June 18th for Stage4 endometriosis. My doctor started me on depo provera to help stabilize my body. She told me I had to be On the birth control due to the fact that my Endo would return. How soon did it return after surgery?

Endo help
With me I started having irregular bleeding and pains with the coil after a year I think and needed a second lap after 2 years. It’s been 3 years now and on waiting list for my 3rd lap. So not great x
It varies from person to person and symptoms don't correlate to the amount of regrowth, which is a bit rubbish. Also hormones / natural doesn't always make a difference. Also it depends on what type of endo removal has been done - excision is the best at preventing regrowth. Some women have it come back in a few months, some women it feels like it's never gone, some it's years.
I've had my four month post op and been signed off. My specialist is happy with my progress and recovery, I'm not on any hormones and based on what he's seen and carried out excision he doesn't expect me to need another lap for a few years, hopefully more. To be honest the side effects I've had from hormones previously would be worse than my manageable endo symptoms now - so I'll stick to natural!
All of our bodies are different but my doctor had me on Depo for 10 years for my endometriosis as soon as I stopped the Depo I became pregnant immediately! No period.. no endometriosis
