Pain under left rib

Hi everyone, the last 6 wks or so I’ve had new symptoms that are constant. Severe stitch deep pressure under my left rib, severe nausea never feel that hungry then really uncomfortable after I’ve eaten and just feel constantly gassy and burpy. Anyone know??

Hi Kelly, I suffer with these symptoms too. So so frustrating!

Have you had excision surgery to remove endo? I had mine in March but still get the left rib pain and I’ve just started having pelvic and abdominal physiotherapy which is helping. Your abdominal muscles can be affected by the tightening of your pelvic floor. Not just to do with your bladder believe it or not?

I had no idea that years of tension in my pelvic/abdominal area would cause lasting problems. I just thought it was down to the endo and once that was removed I’d feel better. Don’t get me wrong, I do feel much better than I did but you need to determine whether you have other pelvic pain generators such as a tight pelvic floor.

My physio got right under my rib and worked on it - uncomfortable but has helped me. Worth you looking into it? Has helped me with IBS/digestive type symptoms too 🙂

Yes I’ve had 3 lots of surgery the last one being 4 yrs ago.

Where was ur endometriosis located in order to give you rib pain?

I’m guessing it’s my bowel or stomach x

Amongst other areas, I had adhesions from my sigmoid colon to my pelvic sidewall which I think was causing the discomfort in my abdomen. The pain under my ribs may have been down to me being tense in that area for a number of years, as that’s where I felt the pain prior to my diagnosis and surgery.

I now need to work on relaxing my abdominal muscles. I’ve had a follow up ultra sound scan and nothing has been picked up so I’m really hoping the physio helps.
