Laparoscopy results - can anybody relate?

Hi ladies,

So, I thought it was about time I posted an update, it’s been quite an eventful few weeks for me, but I’m slowly getting back to my ‘normal’.

I had my lap on 28th August, and although my consultant insisted my results would be negative, little did she know she’d find 3 separate issues..

1.) Inactive patches of endo on my ovaries.

2.) A swollen / potentially blocked Fallopian tube.

3.) A large adhesion on my abdominal wall.

I am still awaiting my letter from my consultant to officially state her findings and advice as the info I was given was when I was a little out of it after surgery.

I have mixed feelings, I’m glad I went through with the op, to get some answers, but I feel like I now have even more questions.

Can any of you relate to any of the points, have any comments, encouragement or advice for me going forward?

Likewise, if any of you who are reading this who haven’t yet had your op, feel free to ask me anything you’d like to know..

Jo X

Hi, glad you had some results.

For the points you may need some clarification:

1. Inactive patches usually means endo is dormant / moved on so what is the treatment plan / next steps?

2. What is her view on treatment for the possibly blocked fallopian tube? How will it affect cycles? Will it cause pain / get worse?

2. Has she take biopsies of the adhesion? Is it endo or something else?

If you do not have a follow up appt with your consultant, it may be an idea to arrange one. I had mine two weeks after op (both ops) to go through findings, I did have stuff treated too so went through that too, plus general recovery.

Thank you for your message, it’s really helped.

I don’t have a follow up appt currently but I am going to arrange to see my consultant again to get my questions answered and to find the right path going forward. x

Morning, glad you now know what has been wrong with you albeit a few things. Did your gynaecologist deal with it when you were under or will you have to go back for more surgery? I have not had my diagnostic laparoscopy or hysteroscopy x

Hey, she dealt with the adhesion but nothing else as she said that would need to be dealt with my a fertility specialist.

When is your surgery? x
