I’m new to this community but I was hoping some of you may have experiences you could share.
So, I’m 33, diagnosed Endo, dealing with it since I was 13, had 7 ops (so far), currently need more surgery even though last op was 5 weeks ago.
Anyway, I’ve been asking for a hysterectomy for a long time now (as they believe I also have adeno). I have tried Prostap etc which was amazing! The problem is, I’m constantly refused a hysterectomy and a lot of health professionals simply won’t enter into a conversation with me about it due to my age and the fact I don’t have children. Has anybody successful had a hysterectomy in a similar situation to myself? If so, where/who?
Thanks in advance x

I've not had a hysterectomy so can't bring any advice / experience on that note.
Research and peoples experience post hysterectomy on here, does show that it doesn't always reduce the endo growth. We are mammals and thus produce oestrogen (even males), this is what endo needs to grow, so even removing the uterus and ovaries we still produce just enough oestrogen for it to grow back. Also endo can produce it's own so really a hysterectomy will only help if the majority of your endo has always been on your uterus, and always re grows there.
I'm just being honest and letting you know.
It's your decision so it's annoying that doctors wont let you choose; I guess they'd prefer you to stay on the hormones?
Hi I've had hysterectomy but had already had my children and had 15 operations for endometriosis and my womb was falling out so made sense. Have you talked to your gyni?you could pay to see a private gyni &get them to refer you for surgery on nhs might work .I hope you get the support from your consultant. Hugs xx
I totally understand your frustrations. I was in a similar situation to you in that I was too young and no children.
I am 28 and have no children and not in a relationship. I have now been given time between my 3 monthly appointments to make a decision about hysterectomy. I should see my gynae at the start of November and I will then go onto his hysterectomy waiting list.
The only reason that my surgeon has agreed to this is because I have tried all other options. I am currently on Prostap and have been for 3 years with addback and although this is helping my pain it is still debilitating. I currently take daily morphine for the pain and other pain meds.
If you want to message me directly I would be happy to disclose surgeon. (I don't think I can here).
He has said however that I will be the youngest lady he has ever done the operation on and he still has reservations about it.
