Hiya!

I had my lap yesterday morning and had a nightmare of a day. Woke up at 10 am, threw up countless times and sadly my surgeon forgot to sign the form that means I can have painkillers so I couldn’t have anything. I only got two paracetamols at 7 pm and was sent home. My doctor never came to speak to me and I had to be taken to hospital this morning via ambulance because I couldn’t see myself and was having really bad pain. Everything’s been fixed and I’m finally home but I still don’t know how long to keep the dressing on the incision and how long to wait before I shower because no one told me anything.

They did tell me that no endo was found and shower me pictures of my ovaries but when I told that doctor my symptoms she did say they were my normal and that I need to be referred to a pelvic pain clinic.

To be honest, I’m feeling lost and still in a lot of pain. Sorry if this is just a ramble but I’m just very overwhelmed.

X

I’m the same! I had my lap yesterday and they found no endometriosis. They are sending a letter to my GP and have said the cause is constipation yet I don’t suffer with that at all! I’ve had pain and irregular bleeding for three years so I’m at a loss of what to do. I’m sorry you’ve had a horrible time after! I didn’t think it would hurt so much 😩 hope you are resting well. I have been told I can take the dressings off today and shower today if that is any help, I haven’t done this yet and will try this evening xx

Thanks for replying! It’s a difficult one isn’t it when you’re being told they didn’t find anything! I cried! When I know it should be a good thing! I just wanted answers to my pain and feel even more lost now! Get to your dr as soon as you can and tell them that you’ve never suffered from constipation and hopefully they can direct you in a better direction! Stay strong! X

Hi sorry to hear your story.. I was told dressings off and shower on 2nd day post op.. which I did.. Wash with soap and water over the wound in the shower then pat dry. You can re- cover with dressings if you want (I didn’t) - I just wore loose clothing- dresses etc as it was hot! You will feel better after a few days. Good luck xx

Hey, I’m sorry you had to go through all that. I was told to take my dressings off the next day and have a shower. Pretty much just normal routine as long as I pat dried the wound and cleaned it 2 times a day.

Just take it easy for a bit xx

Sorry to hear about your experience! Hope recovery is going well!

Nothing was found at my lap and have been told to try a pelvic pain clinic or chronic pain clinic.

Have you had any experiences of the pelvic pain clinic yet?
