I have put so much weight on with Prostap feel so down and still in so much pain

I’ve had 2 injections for my 3rd next week. No they told me just to keep taking my pill to balance hormones out. I’ve put so much weight on and just feel so low n down x

Sadly Prostap can cause both weight and also low mood. I’ve been on Prostap twice and put on quite a lot of weight the second time around (although I was on it for quite a while). Have you had a chat to your GP / prescribing Specialist about the impact these side effects are having? They can refer you to a dietician for advice and also prescribe free membership to local council leisure centres. I found gentle swimming helped a bit with both my weight and pain. You could also ask for some blood tests as Prostap can depress your thyroid function and also vitamin d, potassium, and magnesium levels (which can cause weight gain).

Might be worth printing a copy and having it with you when you speak to your GP / Specialist so that you can refer them to the relevant sections regarding weight gain and mood.

I’m about to have my 3rd zoladex injection next week and I’ve also put on weight and feeling down about it. It’s so awful isn’t it!!!!

Hi I’m on my 5th zoladex injection... and I’ve gained so much weight... I feel so down too I just want to cry😢 I’ve been trying to eat healthy and exercise like I always have.

But what it’s just not working... i am exhausted too and just don’t feel like myself at all. Your not alone hun xx

I found the most relief I got was from my 3rd and 4th injection.

After my second I nearly gave up having them - could be worth speaking to your nurse before you have it to see if they can advise/help with any meds which might help with weight xx
