Hi y'all

Please can you tell me your experiences. I can longer take microgynon combi pill due to ocular migraines. So have been put on cerrazette but worried about pain and break through bleeding. Thanks so much 🙂

Hi! I am on cerazette and it's been the best thing for me but I know everyone is different and won't work for all. I have taken it every day since 2011 when I was officially diagnosed with endo and it has made a huge difference in my life. I've rarely had breakthrough bleeding and it's completely stopped my periods.

I hope it works for you like it has for me! X

Aw thank you so much for your reply, I too hope it will work for me. I have read some horror stories and people having depression with it too. I pray this works for me. Thank you once again for your reply x

hi. Thank you for such a positive response, I'm looking into birth control for endometriosis management, I tried a few when I was younger I was a monster to live with 🙉 so I'm very cautious about this route again. Hope it works for you and your migraines stop they are horrible.

good luck 😊

Hey, I know you may want more positives than negatives but I suffered really bad on birth control especially cerrazette. I had spotting almost every day and horrendous cramps. Plus I gained a lot of weight which knocked my self esteem and made me get a little depressed. It didn’t help stop my periods but for most women it can. Think I’m just the unlucky one haha. My mood swings were unbearable at times but now I just get them when it’s PMS and my period due to the pain.

Hope this is helpful and it’s definitely worth a try on cerrazette as you can always stop and try another pill xx

I found cerazette pretty bad but not really any worse than other pills I'd tried. One thing I did find was I still had periods, just every 70 days or so instead of regular like I was before, and when it was day 26 and my period was meant to start, I'd feel awful and like it needed to start right up til it did 2 months later!

It also gave me mouth ulcers regularly, but apparently thats to do with hormone levels anyway so could have happened with anything, and it gave me a headache that I only realised after I came off it. i think it's the same thing as other people have said, different things work for different people and it's (annoyingly) about trying different ones til you find what works for you, fingers crossed this is the one! x

Hey Boodie,

I have just come off Cerezette-only on it for 5 months. It really helped me with bad period pain but I did bleed more in the last 2 months. I still had other symptoms that started to get worse the longer I was on it...so have now started Zoladex.

When I was researching it really was a mixed bag of reviews, I felt I wanted to give it go.

Whatever you decide I hope it can improve things for you.

Hi I have been on cerazette for 2/3 years before even suspecting I have endometriosis! So far it has been the best pill for me and I have used a lot. It works for me because: I have no side effects, my mood swings are more controlled, I haven’t gained weight and I don’t suffer with migraines anymore which some of the other pills caused.

However every now and then, and it’s very rare and random, I sometimes have a period but it’s nowhere near as bad as it was when I was on any of the contraceptive pills which required a week off

Since then I’ve been half diagnosed with endometriosis (awaiting surgery to confirm) and my gynaecologist is happy me staying on cerazette as it is actually treatment for endometriosis!!

Hi there, thanks so much for your reply. That's really positive. When you get a period is it spotting or like a heavy flow and do you get pain. Also gave upu ever suffered from dysfunctional bleeding? x

Cerazette seems to work great for some and not for others!

Unfortunately when I bleed it’s like a normal period. It’s nowhere near as heavy as my usual periods used to be but it is like a proper period with some cramps. My doctor tries telling me that this is spotting and it’s normal to spot on cerazette but I know 100% it’s more of a period!

It isn’t often I bleed and I feel like this is the best pill for me and I’m not planning on changing it any time soon! :) x

Hi Boodie,

I am back to Cerazette after I switched from it to Microgynon 30 (back to back). On micr I had 28 days of heavy bleeding so stopped that and back to cera, taking 2 pills at a time. Period stopped immediately (on the second day of double doze of cera). Just having pain im my ovary sometimes, but it's happened before, many times (did scan several times, nothing). Other than that no side effects. Hopefully will have no periods. I am wating for my implant. After that is installed, will be taking only 1 cera pill.

Hug xx
