First laparoscopy

Hi All, I have my first laparoscopy next week and pretty nervous. What’s the recovery time like?

My first one was 2&half weeks, my second one was more 5-6 weeks.

Everyones recovery is so different depending on what and how things were done. Wishing you a speedy recovery though x

Thank you! Were you able to go back to work during that period?

Yeah. I had my last op last month & phased back to work after 5 weeks, I still know now when I over do things x

Hi there, I’ve had two Laparoscopy’s previously and about to have a third. The only thing I’ve really struggled with for the first 3-4 days is shoulder point pain from the air they put in your abdomen going to the highest point. For my second one, I bought peppermint tablets and drank peppermint tea, whilst they didn’t prevent a recurrence it was most definitely less painful and shorter lived. Just thought it worth recommending to you to get some and start taking a few days before. Good luck xxx
