Sadly with the NHS the way it is you are lucky your cancellation is the same month. A colleague's dad needed an arm operation and he turned up on the day only to be told at lunchtime he was cancelled owing to a broken operating table, took weeks for his rescheduled op.
If you are being seen by the endo specialist it is worth the wait, as frustrating as that is, then you know you are getting the most knolwedgeable person. My first lap was by a general gynae and the endo specialist I saw a couple of years later was quite dismissive of their work saying I would have had endo the first time not just adhesions. Endo is tricky and takes many forms and really needs more Drs trained to understand this.
Sorry to hear your lap has been rescheduled. Unfortunately this does happen and there's nothing you can do about it. You could try phoning them and asking if they can let you know should they get a cancellation before 31st, or ask if there's another surgeon you could see sooner?
I had to reschedule mine to start with as I'd only been given a couple of weeks notice and couldn't get the time off work, then it nearly got changed again because there was an issue on the ward I was supposed to be on, luckily they found a space for me on a general ward post-op, then was moved down to the DTC as I ended up staying in overnight.
Don't worry too much about what people think, operations get rescehduled or cancelled all the time, it's something that you have to expect will happen. Who cares what people think? It's not your fault it's been rescheduled. They'll have rescheduled it so they can give you the best treatment and care possible, not to make things difficult for you.
At least you have a lot of notice. When I went for my first lap I waited from 7.30am till 1pm constantly getting told he would be in soon to see me and then at 1pm being told it’s cancelled because he’s rang in sick. I was starving and literally broke down. Just wait until the 31st as it’ll give you more time to prepare and you know the gynae doing it x
I’ve emailed booking and scheduling but they haven’t emailed me back yet regarding if I could see another surgeon or be put on the cancellation list xx
