I think you need to get official advice on this, from a medic.

However, my recollection from when I discussed the whole 'progesterone' issue … about … 7-8 years ago, was that we cannot absorb progesterone through our skin. Therefore it is a waste of money buying the progesterone cream … just that the people selling it to you won't necessarily tell you. We can absorb oestrogen - which is why there are oestrogen patches, but not progesterone.

As far as I know, things have not changed, which is why the main progesterone-based solution for endometriosis is to have a mirena coil inserted into the uterus. The coil contains progesterone, and as it is released into the right part of the body the dosage is low, safe and slow-releasing, so the coil works for about 5 years. I had one fitted about 7 years ago and it was brilliant. My endo symptoms and pains, as well as increasingly awful periods, stopped after three months, and I only had the coil removed about 18 months ago, as - in my case - I was safely through the menopause. If you are much younger you can have a new one inserted after 5 years, or have it taken out at any time if you want children. They don't wok for everyone, but for me the mirena coil was perfect.

Hope this helps.

Yes you can absorb progesterone. I have tried natural progesterone cream a few times but always got adverse effects like acne and spotting. The same things i get with a progesterone pill so you definitely can absorb progesterone through the skin. I gave it up, like i gave the mini pill up. Progesterone doesnt suit me at all! Cant suggest whether or not you should try it, you should talk to your Dr...
