Infected incisions

I had a laparoscopy 10 days again and today went to the doctors because 2 of the 3 incisions were sore , red and green/ pussy. The doctor said I had an infection and gave me some antibiotic cream.

The areas are so red and sore - are they supposed to be sore? How long do the take to heal?

Thanks so much xx

if they are infected as yours are it can take a few weeks up to about 4 weeks to heal as your body will need to fight off the infection first.

Normally they will scab over in a few days and then start to heal underneath within a week. They'll stay sore for a while as it's all still healing underneath.

I find any creams usually make the scab break down and causes it to weep again, never actually healing properly. Once you've finished the antibiotic cream course you could look into colloidal silver gel/spray (online from amazon), or witch hazel gel, or tea tree oil (diluted) these are all natural antibacterials, and will help with healing.

Thanks so much for replying. They are so sore.

And like you have said, they have started weeping again.

Hoping the heal quickly .

Thanks again x
