Can endo return without periods and with the IUD in?

Yes. Although the IUD reduces symptoms and obvs is a contraceptive, it can't stop endo.

I had the mirena fitted during my second lap, and this and the op seemed to deal with my symptoms for about 18 months. They then started to gradually return without me having periods, so I now take Cerazette back to back as well, which (a year and 3 months in) seems to be working well. Some websites suggest that the mirena only works for endometriosis for on average 18 months -I don't know if this is because the hormones it provides are very localised, or because they are gradually dwindling (the leaflet it came with says they reduce by 50% over the 5 years).
