Yes, all of the time. I've only just been diagnosed but my whole tummy area is as you describe. I also feel like I can't really 'engage' that area. Like, I can't really pull my tummy in. I definitely can't eat clothing that's right in that area, partly because I think it highlights the whole tummy issue but also because it's super uncomfortable. I guess if it's all inflamed in there, it's probably best to not put pressure on it?
hi
Thanks for replying. Im still waiting for my gynecologist appointment, I saw my own Dr in March and he was to put the referral in for me. Every symptom I have seems to be pointing to Endo and my own Dr suspects the same, there are days I feel like something is stabbing me inside or a knife is poking me if you know what I mean. What stage Endo do you have and how was it diagnosed for you? x
I have stage 4 and was only diagnosed on Fri. I've been unwell for 4 years and already had a laporoscopy to test for endo 2 years ago but it looks like it was missed. I had been put on the pill in the run up to the lap and it's possible it made it a bit more difficult to detect.
I was diagnosed through being seen by orthopaedics due to hip and back pain. He thought I had arthritis. I had an MRI and that's when they discovered the endo. It's apparently everywhere. I'll need to get referred to gynae or a specialist endo centre so it'll be a while before I know what my options are. I see my GP on Thurs and hopefully they'll be able to tell me more. The orthopaedic consultant admitted he knew very little about endo so he basically read out my mri results and that was it. I got a lot of relief from my symptoms when I went on the pill for 3 months in the lead up to my laporoscopy 2 years ago so I think I'll likely go back on it. I hate the thought of taking synthetic hormones but if my quality of life can improve it'll be worth it.
The road to diagnosis never seems to be a very smooth one. I think the key thing is to find a way to live with the symptoms, find things that help. If it is endo, there's no quick fix so it's important to make life adjustments and make life as good as you can alongside the symptoms. For me it's been yoga and meditation. They've been life saving for me.
I hope you get some answers and some relief soon.
I have sporadic sensitivity so I have given up on tights and switched to leggings in a size bigger. Thank goodness for the warmer weather and a nice dress with no need for either!
