Wonderful news. Delighted for you! 🎉🎉🎉🎊🎊🎊

The waiting times will vary across the county’s ; you can go onto nhs choices and type your hospital details; you should then get an idea of waiting times.

You can also be put on a cancellation list to speed it up and cancellations do happen 😁

Personally I was referred in beginning of May 2016 and had my first appointment with the fertility specialist in end of August.

I can’t answer on the ivf front as we aren’t able access nhs funded ivf..

Good luck with it all. xoxo

Thank you that gives me an idea of how long il wait for tests to get started i cant believe how many tests ive got to have when the dr told me its quite overwhelming but worth it can you tell me if you have had the dye test for your tubes i know its suppose to be painful ive been warned but on a scale of 1-10 how bad? 😐

My referral took about 5 weeks. I had the dye test to see if my tubes were patent, and discovered my left one was blocked. My ovary was stuck to my bowel (discovered on lap) so my test was painful unfortunately but I was a complicated case. I was referred in April, consultant appointment and testing done in May/June, lap in September followed by 3 months of prostap and I started the ivf in January. Good luck with it all, sending baby dust xxx

It’s good that your GP is running all the tests they can. That will speed things up 😁

I had the HSG 4 years ago ( tube check) to me it was very painful probably a 9 /10 but I have endometriosis which probably made it worse ( which wasn’t diagnosed then) To most women it’s probably not that bad; I struggle with simple pelvic examinations. 🤦🏽‍♀️

Last year I was offered an HSG, private IVF or lap n dye ; I chose a lap n dye. Best decision I ever made ; finally was diagnosed with endometriosis. If you get a choice go for the lap n dye because they can look for and treat endometriosis which maybe hindering fertility. In my case it is the cause of the infertility. I did conceive after the first laparoscopy but miscarried; still huge progress as we hadn’t conceived in 6 years of trying! Currently in my first 2ww since the second laparoscopy ( yeah it came back 🙄) xoxo

I missed out on the dye test during my lap as the consultant didnt explain about using protection to make sure i wasnt pregnant i already know i have endo so looks like it will be a painful dye test then 😯

You can request anaesthetic for any procedure that is your right- especially as you have a valid medical reason for it.

I had a issue with my uterus lining a few months post miscarriage and was offered a hysteroscopy; normally they are done without anaesthetic but I refused flat to do it without any ; the consultant was completely supportive of my decision. 😘

Did the consultant remove the endo? Sometimes like in my case it grows back again. Good idea to have looked st before undergoing ivf ; you want the best chance xoxo

P.s I’m shocked the surgeon would go ahead with any type of surgery if there was any chance at all if being pregnant 😳🙈
