This is probably a bit TMI but my doctors is a 40 minute drive from me now that I’m at uni so I thought i’d ask on here before making the trip (don’t worry, I know that this isn’t a substitute for gp advice).
I had my first gynaecology appointment last Friday. A couple of days before I just had a random day of bleeding (not uncommon as I am on the pill and it has caused my periods to become very irregular). Since the day of bleeding I have had very dark brown discharge- it looks like old blood but has been like it for about a week now. Should I be concerned?
The gynaecologist has put me on the waiting list for a laparoscopy which I will be having at the end of May because he thinks my symptoms could potentially be endo- although he isn’t completely sure. I have just switched pill from cerelle to cerazette (although i’m Assured they are the same).
Are my symptoms normal? Should I be concerned?
The gynaecologist did do an internal examination so did see the discharge but didn’t comment on it.

This is pretty well what my periods had been for 1 year of being on the pill after being on it for 7 years prior. I just got off the pill and i now have "normal" periods. However, not sure if associate with endo only because i am currently in the process of trying to have my symptoms diagnosed as such. If this is common with endo and being on the pill it would be interesting to know and maybe even help answer some of my questions. Sorry if I wasn't of mich help but I experienced this type of blood every month for all of 2017
Thank you so much, it has completely put me at ease! I will maybe mention it to my doctors next time I go but I won’t be rushing to make an appointment! I hope your potential endo diagnosis goes okay and that you get the answers that you need!
I’m not on the pill but sometimes I have a period then about a week to 10 days later have a bleed where my blood is almost black sticky and clotty (sorry) my doctor said that it’s nothing to worry about it’s just your body getting rid of the old blood that didn’t pass from your last period obviously she explained it a lot better than me hahaha hope this helps xx
I have been put on cerazette and I'm getting brown discharge with it. I had a cyst removed 4 weeks ago. Hoping the cerazette settles in my system as I don't want this discharge every other week.
I just noticed your on cerazette too. If it keeps happening I'm going to ask to change pill but will give it time to settle x
I sometimes get a bit of bloody discharge after an internal, especially after my ultrasounds. I think they can just agitate the uterus sometimes. I read online it can sometimes happen after an internal.
