hi. Hope you can have a relaxing evening and try to sleep well tonight. Hopefully you should have it done in the morning but it will depend on the surgerys before you. Take a good book or some magazines to distract you.I got chatting to the ladies and we all caught up on the ward afterwards to compare notes.

I was very nervous with my first operation it was emergency but luckily a friend at the hospital visited me, he's a surgeon and reassured me by saying from the moment you enter the anesthetic room you are the total focus of the very skilled people who do this every day. It really did help and the staff were so lovely I felt very cared for.

hope you can sleep and just think its one day ( and some recovery) but you will be in very safe hands.

be thinking of you. Xx

My last lap was private so my own room etc and it was a diagnostic one. So I guess I’m prepared to a degree will be interesting to speak to other people in the same situation

Hi, I’m going in for my first one on Tuesday! I’ve actually not long finished placement (student nurse) and I watched a lap! Nothing to be worried about, it’s eased my nerves massively seeing what happens and what to expect etc.

Good luck!

That is reassuring I’m just waiting in the first waiting room now lol.

This is my second lap but still hate it :(

You’ll be fine! You know what to expect now :)

The only thing I’m nervous about is the symptoms after the op, is it painful!
