Recovery time experiences?

Hi I'm going in on Tuesday for a laperoscopy, excision of severe endo, ovarian cystectomy & hsyterocopy. Can anyone advise what they feel an average recovery time would be? I know everyone is different but wondered what other people's experience has been. Also, this forum has been a lifeline for me as I don't personally know anyone with the condition. Reading everyone's stories has really helped me feel less isolated. So thank you

As you say everyone is different but I wouldnt expect to be back to normal for around three weeks. I’ve had laparoscopys when I’ve felt ok after a few days and then last week had what I thought would be a relatively simple hysteroscopy and a week later I’m still struggling. When I was working full time I always expected 2 - 3 weeks before I felt ok but this depended on the extent of the surgery. Best wishes for a speedy recovery.

Thank you so much, I fully intend ( for once in my life) to take it easy. I definitely won't be rushing back to work but I worry I use it as q crutch xx

I made the mistake of going back too soon the first time and was met with added responsibilities instead of what I was hoping would be a gentle return! Put yourself first. x

Good luck for Tuesday! Hope it all goes well for you ❤️

I think around 2-3 weeks on average for recovered - but everyone will experience it differently. My most recent lap, I was signed off for 2 weeks before returning to work. To be honest, the first day or 2 back were hard going, but it was alright overall. I probably could have done with 3 weeks off.

Sending positive vibes for Tuesday ❤️

Hey, that sounds like a lot of work they’re planning to do! Like everyone says, it really varies from person to person and depends on what they do and how well they do it. But for comparison, I was off work for 8 weeks after my first major laparoscopic surgery and 10 weeks after my second x
