Finally a date for laparoscopy and a lovely caring consultant.

Finally saw a consultant who was empathetic tonight and who can perform a lap within 2 weeks. Thank god for insurance. Since the last guy was totally rude and dismissive and made me feel i was going insane, after pulling myself out of my emotional meltdown i thotoughly prepared everything i wanted to say as i seem to become over anxious and get a bit flustered in consultant office. This guy could not have been more different from the last. He said symptoms are defo symptomatic of endo and reassured me i wasnt going crazy. He said sometimes people have all the symptoms and when he gets inside theres nothing there and it turns out its something else causing pain. Other times its hardly any symptoms and then loads inside. He said its a very hard disease to predict and diagnose. So he said it defo needs to be looked at anyway. Catch 22 coz endo not good for fertility and can grow back no matter how they treat it so dont want that diagnosis but at the same time i want to know whats causing this awful pain. Either way i will know where i stand and can focus on my next step (ivf) inside of 2 weeks i hope.

Hi Netti, I've had a very similar story! I just knew I had endometriosis for many years but felt nobody took me seriously.. Until I met this one really nice Consultant Gynaecologist who booked me in for Laparoscopy, she did the operation herself and I was diagnosed with stage 4 endometriosis. It is awful and it's such as rubbish diagnosis.. But it does give us clarity about what is going on and we will be going for IVF soon. Wishing you all the best!
