Hi all,
I have adenomyosis. Also had bilateral endometrial cysts. Had my lap one year ago, removed one ovary and cut half from the other ovary. No endo outside uterus was found.
Was on progesteron (200 mg) for 6 months, no periods at all but had a functional cyst, 1 tiny fibroid and no adeno on the scan. Then was 6 months on Cerazette (progesterone only, 75 mg). Was ok but was having 20ish days of spotting every 40 days or so. Had a scan than, that showed now 2 fibroids, a bit bigger, plus adeno. GP prescribed Microgynon 30 to take without breaks. On the middle of the second pack heavy period started and lasted 20 days. Pain was awful in the uterus and in the ovary. Was freaking out that the endometrioma cyst is growing with all this blood.
Today finally had my appointment with GP, going to Cerazette again (probably can't stand any estogen in my pills). Also we agreed that I should try and have some additional progesteron - either Mirena coil or the progesteron implant.
I read a lot of negative and positive comments on both, but I'm thinking, how can we have the coil in our wombs with adenomyosis? This thing sits there and can touch the adeno wounds? Or even stick to them? Perforate the already damaged walls? Also my womb is tilted and appers to be moving to the front and to the back. I am really sceptical about a metal object inside a womb that is damaged by adeno O_O
Why is Mirena even prescribed for adenomyosis?
I will try to ask them to give me the implant. At least it will not touch my adeno. What do you think? Am I misunderstanding something?
Thanks in advance!
