Suspected adenymiosis

Hi everyone, I had a transvaginal scan this week and doc said it’s showing signs of adenymiosis and a haermoragic cyst. I had a lap 2.5yrs ago and was diagnosed with endo. Been trying for baby and just worried about these results, not heard of adenymiosis before. Feeling super low and anxious, keen to hear positive thoughts and advice on it all? X

Hi Clare,

Sorry I can't give any advice. However I am going thought a very similar situation. I was diagnosed with endo 4 years ago and i have had several lap and excisions for the pain.

We have been trying for a baby for 2 years and are now on fertility medication to help me ovulate (I have PCOS to).

I went to a new consultant who sent me for an MRI because he is certain Adenomyosis that is cause of my pain. I am just waiting my results and what happens next.

In the 1st appointment my mum did ask if it was Adenomyosis what did it mean for having children and he said it would have to be IVF.

But that's all the info I have sorry, if you wanna chat or a moan feel free.

Hope you get some answers soon.

Take care,

Holl xx

Hi!

I have adenomyosis. This is when endo lining is growing through the uterus muscle. You can look it up. Some women managed to completely cure it by themselves, doing all sorts of healthy things like yoga, massage, compresses, diet, etc. I believe the only way to cure it is to help your immune system and help you body to clear it. There is no medicine that can help with that unless you take something that stops your periods forever.

As for the cyst though.. Do you mean you have endometrial cyst on your ovary? This can only be removed by laparoscopy.

Adenomyosis often causes miscarriage, that is what I read online. But it is very individual.

Hope you get better and have your baby.

Hope we all get better somehow.

Hi not sure about the cyst, I have adenomyosis plus endo and did conceive my son naturally though I did have 3 missed miscarriages and an ectopic.

I was a lot fitter and eating more healthily plus drinking loads of water and no coffee and little tea when I fell pregnant with my son.

I had Adeno.

My Obgyns first exam (Im in the US, I was with another, awful, provider for 2 years who thought I was a crazy pill seeker, essentially) said my uterus felt boggy and considering my symptoms sounded like Adeno. He was right.Confirmed in a hysteroscopy.

We tried b/c methods, just made me worse, so bad I tell you (more bleeding, more pain). Only cure was removal, which we did in my late 20s (I didn't get to have kids).

I still have daily pain and problems, adhesions. I actually just resolved a hemorrhagic ovarian cyst myself (I've one ovary left). I fully credit Chinese herbs. If you have the means, go find an Acupuncturist, they can prescribe you the right herbs (most common for endo and endo like issues is Gui Zhi Fu Ling Wan). I also take herbs which help with bowel movements. Having regular bowel movements is also key for pain management and symtpoms, imho and per my GI,Gyn and pelvic pt because one of the main things for Endo treatment (Adeno is endo of the uterine muscle) are easy, smooth, calm bm'. Also estrogen fuels endo so we need to poop it out, literally. If qe are backed up ebdo just reabsorbs and festers.

So maybe try those things for a few months and see if your symptoms lessen where you can manage having a baby?

The good news is other women who I have read about who have had children say the Adeno cramp pain is much like labour pains...so giving birth should be a breeze for you ;p
